EPIDOTE  Joppa Hill, Bedford, NH
8 mm Ce rich epidote crystal (black) with vesuvianite (brown), diopside (green) grossular (red) and calcite (white).

Locality:          Joppa Hill, Bedford, NH
Specimen Size: 8 mm Ce rich epidote crystal (black) with vesuvianite (brown), diopside (green) grossular (red) and calcite (white).
Field Collected: Tom Mortimer
Catalog No.: 732
Notes: Two views. This is likely the largest, complete, epidote crystal found to date at the Joppa Hill locality.
Three EDS analyses EDS analysis #1 , EDS analysis #2 & #3 showed only a trace amount of Ce in the Joppa Hill epidote. Prior to the EDS analyses, many collectors thought the Joppa Hill epidotes were allanite.
